The good news is not all companies require downlines. The even better news is that you have the opportunity to choose what marketing style best fits your personality. The most important key to success in Internet marketing is knowing where you fit.
For starters, break away from the idea that downlines are necessary for successful results. Take Google, YouTube or MySpace, for example. Though they are in need of a large number of users, building a downline is not necessary. However, from a marketing point of view, networks of friends within these types of sites are most definitely helpful.

What you need to understand about Network Marketing is that it is different than a traditional business. Most people trade hours for money, by that I mean they work for someone in a JOB or they are self employed.
Some of us have been earning money this way for a very long time. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you are happy doing that. What it does do though is that it develops a mind set that you need to see an immediate benefit for the hours that you work. This is how things worked when you are an employee.

Here’s the first rule of making a presentation
“Your prospect doesn’t really care about you.”
All those people in the cars around you in the traffic… do you think they’re thinking about you? Not a chance! They’re totally focused on themselves and their own lives. They don’t even know you exist.
So don’t talk about yourself. Just give them the bare minimum introduction about yourself and why you’re there.
Something like:
“Hey, thanks for fitting me into your schedule. I know you’re busy. I’m really excited about what I’m going to show you tonight/today. It’s totally changing my financial future.”
