What on Earth is Magnetic Sponsoring?
If you've been in the MLM opportunity world for very long at all, you've undoubtedly run across quite a few buzzwords related to the MLM industry. One that you should pay attention to very closely though is magnetic sponsoring.
There are a couple of approaches to recruiting people to join your downline in an MLM home business. The one that comes to mind for most people when they think of MLM is the shotgun approach. MLM business owners are taught to pitch to anyone and everyone they meet, including family members, coworkers, friends, and acquaintances.
The marketers who take that approach also typically focus on the opportunity when trying to recruit - that is, they tell how great the company is, how long it has been around, how great the products are, etc.
As a result, these people end up wasting a lot of time talking to folks who are really not interested in their opportunities. Prospects politely listen, nod their heads, say they're thinking about joining the MLM program… and then do nothing. This can be a very frustrating scenario, particularly for new MLM marketers who are just trying to start a downline.
Magnetic sponsoring, on the other hand, takes a completely different approach. Rather than making cold calls and pestering friends, marketers who use this system focus on talking to people who are genuinely interested in their MLM opportunity.
This system teaches marketers to concentrate on the problems that the MLM opportunity can solve and the benefits it can provide. Magnetic sponsoring is sometimes compared to the adage that people who are shopping for a drill aren't really interested in the drill; they're interested in making holes. An ineffective salesperson will focus on the features of the drill - the casing, bit speed, etc. - while a good marketer will find out why the person needs the drill and focus on how his or her drill will meet those needs.
The same concept can be applied to MLM - focus on why a prospect would want to join your MLM opportunity - more money, freedom, a happier lifestyle, the chance to benefit others, etc. - rather than on the features of the opportunity itself.
People who use this strategy are typically far more successful than those who rely on aggressive selling techniques.
Your magnetic sponsoring attraction marketing formula should begin with your lead generation strategies. Whether you're promoting through print media, telephone calls, or online marketing, craft your advertisements to uncover what your prospects need from an MLM opportunity. When they see or hear your ad, they should be able to relate to a particular need or goal. If a particular goal, such as financial freedom or being able to work from home, resonates with them, they will be much more receptive to your opportunity when they contact you.
Through magnetic sponsoring you will encounter less resistance, spend less time with people who have no real interest in your MLM opportunity, and build your downline more quickly.
