If you’ve got great information, you can sell it online as an ebook. Yes, there’s lots of free information online, but ebooks nevertheless sell in huge numbers every day. Want your ebook to sell? Here’s how to ensure that it does.

It all starts with your planning.

Planning your ebook is all-important. Without planning, you may create an ebook with good information, but then find that there’s no demand and no sales.

Ask yourself two questions.

1. Is there a demand for my topic and information?

Demand is easy to estimate, and you can do it very simply. In fact this is the first step you should take when considering an ebook topic.

Type your topic into Google’s search query box. In the results pages, are there advertisers on the right hand side? (These are the Sponsored Results.)

If there are advertisers, what are they selling? If there are ebooks on your topic, and if the same advertisers are still advertising next week, you know that there is a demand for ebooks on your topic.

2. Do I have a great offer?

Asking someone to part with their hand-earned cash takes a leap of trust. Your information must be so valuable to the buyer, that he buys without hesitation.

You must make your ebook irresistible. It must answer a question your buyer has - a desire he wants to fulfill.

If there are forums catering to the people interested in your ebook’s topic, read the forums. You could create a small poll on a Web page, and ask forum members to take the poll, in return for a free copy of your ebook when it’s available.

One point: if you do this, ask the forum moderator or owner for permission first. Some forums will not allow you to do this, but many will.

The responses to the poll, and your own instinct developed by reading the forums, will help you to make the offer for your ebook irresistible.

If you take a few minutes to plan, and find out whether there’s a demand, as well as creating a great offer before you create your ebooks, they will be hot sellers.
